Weapons

There are two types of weapons: melee and ranged.

Weapons cause damage in varying degrees. (d6, 2d6, 3d6). The die value of any weapon your character is wielding is your damage die. And there are three types of damage; slashing (SL), crushing (CR), and piercing (PI). The type of weapon damage affects the damage dealt against different armour. (see Armour)

There are one-handed and two-handed weapons. All ranged weapons are two-handed. Any weapon that uses multiple damage die (2d6, 3d6) is also two-handed.

There are three different ranges for weapons, short-, medium-, and long-range. Each type of ranged weapon has different effective ranges

If you want to use your ranged weapon to attack beyond its effective range, you can add the short-range distance to your weapon’s range but the maximum damage a hit can cause is 1d6 and you don’t get any critical hits.

Critical Hits

A critical hit happens when you roll a 6 on an attack roll. There are also six types of criticals.

Bloody

causes +1 damage for six rounds.

Brutal

breaks armour, rendering it ineffective and useless.

Cripple

limits target’s movement to 1.

Gut

causes 1d6 damage the next combat round.

Maim

deals maximum damage automatically.

Split

destroys the shield the target is wielding. (if any)

If you don’t want to differentiate critical hits, and prefer a quicker approach to criticals, you can use maim for all critical hits.

When in backpack, all weapons occupy slots equal to their attack die. (1, 2, or 3).
