Terrain
Woods, steep slopes, soft sands, stairs and ladders, debris, and marshes are examples of rough terrain.
Hedges, walls, windows, ditches, doors count as obstacles.
Type | Effect |

Flat | No effect |
Rough | When crossing over rough terrain, count each hex of rough terrain crossed as two hexes. |
Higher ground | When attacking a target on lower ground hex, receive a +1 bonus to attack rolls. The combatant must be engaged. |
Lower ground | When attacking a target on higher ground hex, receive a +1 penalty to attack rolls. The combatant must be engaged. |
Obstacle | Crossing an obstacle expends half of a characterβs movement allowance. |
