Events
Anything that is slightly interesting happening (to your character) as the time passes is an event. There are three types of events; incident, object, and monster. The list of events differ for overland and points of interest.
Events are triggered by the passing of time. When exploring the overlands, it is every watch, and when delving into the points of interest, it is every hour (every sixth punct).
Hex Categories
Events are affected by the category of the hex they take place. There are three hex categories. These are wilderness, borderlands, and civilization.

Civilization hexes are centered around a settlement hex, and its surrounding hexes; together forming a three-league wide hex flower. Borderlands hexes are the three hex circles surrounding the civilization hex flower. And the hexes outside of these two categories are the wilderness hexes.
