Combat

All characters have a damage and a defence value. Damage is determined by the weapon used, and is used to determine damage dealt after a successful attack. Defence is determined by the armour equipped, and determines damage absorbed.

Combat takes place in combat rounds, which is divided into different phases, during which every combatant gets to play in their turn. Each combat round lasts 5 seconds, and all actions happen simultaneously. The phases of a combat round are morale (if required), movement, missile, magic, melee, and rally (if possible).

In his turn, a combatant can take one of the available actions, depending on if he is engaged or unengaged. The available actions depend on whether the character is engaged or unengaged.

Combat happens in phases, and simultaneously.

During combat, use a hex grid on which one hex equals one yard.
