# Hunger and Thirst

For each day, a character needs to eat a portion of rations, and drink a bottle of water.

For each day a character doesn't eat anything, he loses 1HP, and becomes **hungry**. His STR determines maximum days he can go without food. &#x20;

When hungry, a character&#x20;

* can only travel with rough terrain rules.
* gets his two slots in his backack as *occupied*. (cannot be used).
* gets +1 penalty on his checks.
* cannot use FORT/REFL bonus in combat.

For each day a character doesn't drink enough water, he loses 1HP, and he becomes **thirsty**. His FORT determines maximum days he can go without water.&#x20;

A thirsty character

* can only travel with rough terrain rules.
* gets his four slots in his backack as *occupied*. (cannot be used).
* gets +2 penalty on his checks.
* cannot use FORT/REFL bonus in combat.

When he reaches his limit on thirst, hie dies.
